These are some of the photos taken throughout the class. The most recent photos are at the top with the oldest photos from the beginning of the last at the bottom.
An unimpressed cat not thrilled to be photographed. Challenged on lighting to be able to see a fully black cat and not just two green eyes in a blog of darkness.
The snuggly, fuzzy, cuteness of a kitten to hopeful make the viewer feel the same way. Intentions on softness and sleepy feelings through intentional through focus and blur.
From the photo essay on capturing the start of spring. New rhododendron blooms felt so exciting to see and a sure sign that winter is over. intentions of the lighting to create a warm and hopeful spring feeling.
Part of my photo essay on capturing spring. The new growth through dead leaves with a focus on creating a warm and hopeful spring motif through lighting.
On spring break vacation taking photos for the class, only a brother would pose like he is going to smack ya with a giant golf ball when asking for help with homework. In the moment the bright red of his shirt with the over the top mini golf props was too prefect not to take a photo!
In the midst of cold and dreary February this cold hill with the sun coming form behind felt a bit like the month itself starting cold but with spring and warm weather promised soon. Daunting but worth it.
The photo distortion project. I had taken photos with my eye behind the lense the whole day and finally took a break to stretch my neck and I looked up and realized the prettiest view was right above me the whole time. A lesson not to force every single photo or I just might miss what is already there for me.
Using string architectural lines to contrast with organic shapes of nature for an example of the dichotomy of a growing small town. I did manipulate the colors to make a more coheasive color pallet and match the two parts.
In the lighting unit I found creative solutions to make the different lighting effects using an old lamp and a piece of paper. Not the best photo I have taken, but learning to use home materials to manipulate setting was a great lesson!
In the limitations of what was available in my house the two yellow roses that lived and slowly wilted together on the shelf together was a subject I wanted to capture before they were gone to time.
For the fist assignments I focused on the similarities of plants roots to veins. Captured in a new perspective through clear water with shapes of hearts throughout.
