In the midst of cold and dreary February this cold hill with the sun coming form behind felt a bit like the month itself starting cold but with spring and warm weather promised soon. Daunting but worth it.
The photo distortion project. I had taken photos with my eye behind the lense the whole day and finally took a break to stretch my neck and I looked up and realized the prettiest view was right above me the whole time. A lesson not to force every single photo or I just might miss what is already there for me.
Using string architectural lines to contrast with organic shapes of nature for an example of the dichotomy of a growing small town. I did manipulate the colors to make a more coheasive color pallet and match the two parts.
In the lighting unit I found creative solutions to make the different lighting effects using an old lamp and a piece of paper. Not the best photo I have taken, but learning to use home materials to manipulate setting was a great lesson!
In the limitations of what was available in my house the two yellow roses that lived and slowly wilted together on the shelf together was a subject I wanted to capture before they were gone to time.
For the fist assignments I focused on the similarities of plants roots to veins. Captured in a new perspective through clear water with shapes of hearts throughout.
